God doesn’t give partners—Counsellor Lutterodt

OUTSPOKEN relationship speaker, Cyril George Carstensen Lutterodt popularly known as Counsellor Lutterodt has advised people looking for marriage to work on themselves if no one is coming their way instead of taking their request to God in prayers.

According to him, God was no longer in the business of giving away husbands and wives and that the issue of not being able to attract and keep a partner to tie the knot was because some people refuse to work on themselves.

“God doesn’t give husbands or wives. Marriage is not a spiritual exercise but a physical one. That is the reason why some single people have prayed and prayed to get hitched yet they are unable to do so.

Instead, they become sex and masturbating toys to their boyfriends and girlfriends who end up spending the rest of their lives with other people.

“Women need to build themselves up for marriage so they become virtuous wives. As a woman, if no man is coming your way, then you should know there is something wrong with you.

“Ask yourself why nobody is asking for your hand in marriage. It means you are not applicable, marketable and presentable enough so work on yourself,” he told Graphic Showbiz.

He further explained that women did not need material things to be eligible for marriage. “A woman doesn’t need a house or car to become a wife. The most important thing a woman needs to become a wife is herself.

“When it comes to marriage, women look for character in men while men look for beauty. That is why women should work on themselves. God has given them the ability to enhance their beauty to look presentable,” he added

Although women empowerment is an essential tool for development, Counsellor Lutterodt believes it has had a negative effect on women when it comes to them being walked down the aisle.

“Traditionally, when a woman is successful, the benefit is for her family and not her husband. Women were created to enjoy what the men make thus a man works because of a woman.

"So, we shouldn’t think that the ‘bread eater’ needs to be more empowered than the bread winner.

“I’m not against educating the girl-child but in relationships, the bread winner must be educated too. We have more girls graduating from the universities and they go on to grab the few jobs available leaving the men jobless.

“This is the reason why more women are still spinsters. The ‘bread eater’ is empowered at the expense of the bread winner which I think is not right,” he stated.
