Kojo Antwi, Awilo thrill at African Legends Night
WITH the kind of names billed for this year’s African Legends Night, one could not have expected anything less than a spectacular show and that is exactly what was delivered at the Grand Arena Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, September 28.
Artistes; Awilo Longomba, 2Baba, Kojo Antwi, Ofori Amponsah, Bless and Kofi Nti took turns to give thrilling performances for patrons who thronged the venue.
The show started at exactly 8pm with Highlife artiste Bless who wasted no time in dropping his hit song Chocho Mucho and another song of his Medanda.

Just when he started to sing Chocho Mucho, the ladies took over the song and sang it word for word. He had to repeat the song again for his fans who requested he perform it again.
Bless introduced Kofi Nti who came with Barosky on stage and sang such like Akonta, Rakia and Odo Ndwom.
The audience was very excited when Ofori Amponsah joined them on stage. It was a delight to watch the three of them back together on stage after a decade of going their separate ways.
Kofi Nti and Barosky left Ofori Amponsah to do his own thing and what a performance he put up! There was no dull moment as he performed songs such as Odwo, Cinderella, Otoolege, Sardine, Puduo, Emmanuella and Kwame Ko. He engaged his audience from the start of his performance until he left the stage.
DR Congo’s Awilo Longomba was the best performer on the night. His energy on stage, together with his dancers and how he engaged the audience from the beginning of his craft to when he finished was overwhelming.
There were times when the audience could not relate because not all his songs were unfamiliar to them but he always found a way of getting them involved in whatever he did on stage.

He brought three guys on stage and promised to give the best dancer one of his back up dancers and it was so hilarious. He sang songs like Coupe, Canon, Porokondo among others.
In an all-black outfit Nigerian superstar, 2 Face also known as 2Baba had an incredible time on stage. Performing songs like If Love Is A Crime, For Instance and True Love, the ladies sang along with him. He couldn’t have left without performing African Queen, which a lot of people were waiting for.
Music Maestro, Kojo Antwi was the last on stage and he wasted no time giving the audience what they wanted. For close to an hour, he kept the audience's attention as he treated them to songs such as Akonoba, Mmrika, Medofo Pa, Densu, Mr Music Man, Afrafra among others. It was exciting to see the audience singing Medofo Pa word for word.
The eighth edition of the African Legends Night, put together by Global Media Alliance was on point with massive attendance and good production. Organisation on the whole was excellent and the organisers can pat themselves on the back for a good job done.
