Lupita 'secretly’ dating rapper K’Naan
Lupita Nyong’o splashed onto the scene in her first feature film, 12 Years A Slave, that garnered her multiple awards, including an Oscar, and she hasn’t had to celebrate alone.

The Kenyan-raised actress has reportedly been dating rapper K’Naan, real name Keinan Abdi Warsame since September. The couple have bonded over their shared African upbringing (K’Naan was born in Somalia) and other common interests.
“She loves his humanitarianism," a friend of the Wavin’ Flag singer told Us Weekly. "They're both passionate about African issues.”
Although born in Mexico, Lupita grew up mainly in Kenya and studied at Massachusett’s Hampshire College and Yale University’s School of Drama.
K’Naan was born and raised in Mogadishu, Somalia. His family fled the country at age 13, when civil war broke out. His mother and three siblings joined relatives in New York City before settling in the Rexdale neighborhood of Toronto, Canada.
The rapper shares two children (born in 2005 and 2007) with his ex-wife Deqa Warsame, a pharmacy technician, but K’Naan wants to take his relationship with Lupita slow.
“She hasn't met his kids," the Somalian poet’s friend told Us.
Lupita hasn’t publicly commented on her boyfriend, but she knows whatever relationship she had with fellow Oscar winner, Jared Leto, was over before it even began.

“It’s crazy because when I read these rumours, they’re so detailed, that even I start to question whether they’re true or not.”
