Curfew hours at Kpatinga in Northern Region extended by Interior Ministry
The Minister for the Interior, Henry Quartey, has extended the curfew for Kpatinga and nearby areas through an Executive Instrument, as part of efforts to sustain peace and stability in the region.
The curfew, effective from Friday, October 4, 2024, will be enforced from 12 midnight to 4 am.

This decision was made following recommendations from the Northern Regional Security Council, reflecting the government's ongoing commitment to tackling security concerns in the area.
In a statement, Mr. Quartey expressed appreciation to the Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and the people of Kpatinga for their patience and cooperation during these challenging times. He urged the community to continue promoting peace through non-violent means.
Furthermore, the Minister imposed a strict ban on the possession of arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons in Kpatinga and its surroundings. He warned that anyone found with firearms or ammunition would face arrest and prosecution, highlighting the government's firm stance against violence.
The statement reiterated the government's focus on ensuring safety and stability in Kpatinga by working closely with local leaders and the community during these difficult times.
