Mama Boat Scores Big in 2026; ordained a Reverend Minister

Ghanaian gospel musician Irene Ayettey-Boateng, affectionately known as Mama Boat, has kicked off 2026 on a high note, scoring a double victory with her recent graduation and ordination.

Mama Boat has earned a Master of Arts in Christian Counselling from Perazim Bible Institute and has been ordained as a Reverend Minister, marking a significant milestone in her spiritual journey.

With a career spanning decades, Mama Boat is celebrated for her unique vocals and authentic traditional worship style, which has endeared her to fans across Ghana and beyond.

 Her music often incorporates local dialects and traditional instrumentation, helping to preserve Ghana's cultural heritage. Some of her notable works include the albums "Fill Me Now", "Shekinah", and "Reliable God".

Beyond her music, Mama Boat is passionate about giving back to the community. As the proprietress of Temple Academy in Kasoa, she has dedicated herself to supporting orphans and single parents. 

Her philanthropic efforts are a testament to her commitment to making a positive impact on society.

Mama Boat's achievements have not gone unnoticed. She has received several awards and nominations, including the Gospel Song of the Year award at the Modern Gospel Awards (MOGA) for her song "Reliable God" featuring Papa Owura.

 Recently, she was nominated in the "Best Traditional Christian Music" category at the 4th Edition of the Praise Achievement Awards 2025, solidifying her legacy as one of Ghana's most revered voices in gospel music.
