MTN Hitmaker Season 9 launched
After eight successful seasons, MTN Ghana has launched the ninth edition of its music reality show, Hitmaker, with the aim of giving opportunities to talents who have the flair, confidence, style and attitude for stardom.
At the digital launch of Hitmaker Season 9 on Friday, August 14 on its social media handles, the Chief Marketing Officer of MTN Mr Noel Ganson said, “MTN is an enabler that creates the platform to pave way for underground artistes to show the world who they are and what they have.”
“We are by this launch inviting you out there with very good lyrical abilities and voice but lack the platform, to ‘Unlock your flow’ and be part of MTN Hitmaker 9.”
According to Mr Ganson, prospective hitmakers have until August 28, 2020 to submit their demos. “We are hopeful that by the end of Friday, August 28, 2020, we will have a lot of entries so that work can start. If you are out there and you know you have what it takes to make an impact in the music industry, then this is your chance.
“The process for this year’s edition consists of a rigorous selection process which includes auditioning and a social media contest.”
“After that the selected finalists will be kept in a camp where they will be groomed by a technical team made up of voice coaches, choreographers, a music director and an image stylist. They will also receive training in the techniques required to prepare them for the entertainment industry,” he stated.
Mr Ganson also reiterated how his firm was still committed to contributing its quota to the creative arts industry.“MTN Ghana remains committed to the continued development of the creative arts and entertainment industry in Ghana.”
The ultimate winner of MTN Hitmaker 9 will take home GH¢120,000 recording deal.
MTN Hitmaker has produced music talents such as KiDi (Season 4 winner), Kurl Songx (Season 5 winner), Freda Rhymes (Season 6 winner), OV (Season 7 winner), Lasmid (Season 8) and Lynx Entertainment signee, Kuami Eugene.
