Nana Aba Anamoah

Ghanaian media personality, Nana Aba Anamoah, has addressed criticism surrounding her demeanour, stating that she is often misconstrued as being rude when, in fact, she is simply a confident individual.

The broadcaster, known for being outspoken has been at the center of several controversies in her career with a perception that she was rude.

In a recent interview with Joy Prime, Nana Aba Anamoah responded to that the rude assertion and said it was due to her honest way of tackling matters.

“I hear that all the time, and I don’t apologise for it. I don’t render any apologies for it. I don’t know why anybody will say I’m rude because I just like to tell things as they are. In a measured way, most of the time I’m polite.

“But my politeness is sometimes hidden in a very subtle and sarcastic way. I hear people say that I’m rude. I’m not rude; I’m just a very confident person,” she said.

This concern was a driving force behind her initiative, Women of Valour, aimed at empowering women to overcome these obstacles.

During the show, Anamoah pointed out a striking disparity in confidence levels between men and women in job interviews. She emphasized the need to bridge this gap, asserting that women should be encouraged to exude the same level of self-assurance as their male counterparts.

“The problem is that women are sometimes afraid to say what they can do because they think people will say they’re too knowing and want people to see that they can do this or that, but there’s nothing wrong with it because that’s what you can do.

“This is what I’m capable of doing, and this is what I’m bringing to the table when you employ me. So, there’s a confidence issue with a lot of our ladies,” Nana Aba added.
