In a response to a follower on Twitter who asked of her views on the protests, the outspoken broadcaster encouraged Ghanaians to also involve themselves in similar activism by freeing their minds since they could be lucky to have the government heed to their calls.

I’m massively sick and tired talking about this country’s problems. Go ahead and free your mind…maybe for once, the administration will listen,” she wrote.

Nana Aba Anamoah is quite vocal about issues of national interest and has been using her various social media handles to raise concerns about matters of national interest.

Interestingly, she was very missing at #occupyjubileehous protest, forcing her followers to question her silence, and it seems her response will put to rest similar queries.

An Accra-based civil society group organising the protest, Democracy Hub, planned the protest on Nkrumah Memorial Day on Thursday to call on “the President and members of the Economic Management Team to #FixTheCountry in light of the level of economic mismanagement and theft that has engulfed our government from the highest levels.”

A number of Ghanaian celebrities including singer Efya Nocturnal, Efia Odo, Stonebwoy, Pappy Kojo, Kwaw Kese, D Black among a host of others joined protestors on the streets to demand better living conditions from the government.

On the first day, some of the protestors were arrested, causing a number of netizens to call out the police for intimidating and obstructing citizens from exercising their democratic rights.
