Diminutive actor, Samuel Dabo, may have earned the admiration of many movie producers in Kumasi for his acting skills, but deep down in his heart, he wishes that he was big enough to take up general roles.

“I am always asked to play kid roles because of my body size. I sometimes feel bad when producers ask that I play the role of a child but I guess there is nothing I can do to change the minds of the producers.
“Often, I suggest to the producers to try me in different roles but they all seem to prefer playing me as a kid”, Dabo told Showbiz in an interview on Tuesday.
According to Dabo also known as Adwenekese, who has played in movies such as Mentie Obiaa, Teacher Kwadwo, Enyi Memma, Akwantifi wuo, Spoilt Child, Agyakoo Awieye and One Bee, he is not pushing his luck anymore because there is nothing he can do to change his body size.
“I have come to accept the fact that this is how God created me and there is nothing I can do to change that.
“Everywhere I go, I get recognition for being the smallish Ghanaian actor, and I like the fact that I am famous due to my body size” he said.
Explaining how he got his showbiz name Adwenekesse, Dabo said he got the name due to how smart he is in executing his roles especially by the way he talks. He looks like some little kid but talks like a mature adult.
“Almost every movie producer in Kumasi admires my work and that is how I came by the name Adwenekesse. I am smart and act to the admiration of my fans who keep telling me I am doing great” he said.

Dabo has acted alongside actors Emelia Brobbey, Lilwin, Nana Ama McBrown, Agya Koo, Vivian Jill and Akrobeto.
Away from his acting career, Dabo said that despite his size, he has a liking for tall women. “I have always admired tall ladies and that is why I went in for my current girlfriend, Tiwaa. I always feel proud when I am with her”
Apart from his girlfriend, Dabo said a lot of ladies admire him due to his body size and the way he acts but he is not giving them the chance because he is glued to his girlfriend.
“I sometimes ask myself what the women want from me because I know most women prefer men who are tall”.
Samuel Dabo is from Jumapo in the Eastern Region. He said he was grateful to Kumasi movie producers for making him a star.
