Poor Becca - If only she would speak

What Mr Acheampong said to the newspaper must have rubbed Kiki the wrong way to make him shoot a long letter to Mr Acheampong explaining his puritanic relationship with her daughter and chronicling a rather detailed tale of suffering that Becca had gone through.

Part of Kiki’s letter reads: “I made sure she never went hungry. I made sure she always had clothes on her back. I made sure she always had a safe place to stay while we worked together to develop her God-given talent”.

In another paragraph Kiki said:, “Mr Acheampong, you don’t seem to realise that you are being used. You are being fed with lies meant to enrage you and incite you to react in anger. The intent of these people is to use your temperament to get you to say hurtful things that will induce me to give up and bow out of Becca’s life. So they can have access to her for their own selfish interest. That I can assure you will not happen”.

Strangely in all this back and forth, Becca herself appears to have been either overwhelmed or cowed into stone silence. By her silence, the confident and in-charge disposition that she usually exudes on stage is beginning to be questioned and many of her fans appear to be saying, “Becca, please speak up”.
