Fashion brand Smully Wear has unveiled its 2026/2027 collection, dubbed ‘Big Stepper’, at Paris Fashion Week, held from September 28 to October 6, 2026.
The collection features bold colours, statement silhouettes and designs aimed at individuals who want their style to reflect their confidence and personality.
According to Joseph Aggrey Cobbina, founder of Smully Wear, the collection is designed for people who walk into a room with confidence, purpose and style, making a statement through their appearance.
Featuring models from Canada, the United States, Spain, Ghana, Italy, France, Romania, Senegal and Cameroon, among other countries, ‘Big Stepper’ reflects the brand’s ambition to expand its international reach and position Ghanaian fashion on the global stage.
The collection embraces bold colour blocking for men and women, with contrasting colours, including lemon green, featuring prominently in designs that challenge conventional dressing.
Its creative direction also focuses on strong silhouettes, statement outfits and premium finishes, creating pieces designed to stand out rather than blend into the crowd.
Explaining the inspiration behind the collection, Mr Cobbina said the brand’s experience in the global fashion market had informed its decision to develop a range that catered to diverse tastes and fashion needs worldwide.
“Having studied the global market, we decided to come up with a global collection which will serve the needs of people all over the world,” he said.
He added that 12 years of experience in the fashion industry had revealed a gap between people’s confidence and the way they presented themselves through clothing.
“Some people step up big, but their outfits do not make a statement or match their steeze and aura,” he said.
The ‘Big Stepper’ collection seeks to bridge that gap by offering designs intended to complement the confidence, ambition and individuality of wearers.
The latest collection builds on Smully Wear’s efforts to establish itself beyond Ghana’s fashion market.
Founded in 2014 , the brand made history in 2023 when it became the first Ghanaian fashion label to showcase at Omaha Fashion Week in Nebraska, United States, with its Good Vibes collection. The showcase offered the brand an opportunity to introduce its designs to an international audience.
Smully Wear has also styled personalities such as American singer Jidenna, actor Boris Kodjoe and Ghanaian musicians Stonebwoy and Samini.
In 2017, Mr Cobbina won Fashion Designer of the Year at Ghana Tertiary Awards for his maiden collection, ‘Jack Where Are You?’
In October 2024, the brand launched ‘We Global (Steeze)’ to mark its 10th anniversary, drawing on its international exposure and ambition to build a globally recognised African fashion label.
The brand also showcased its designs at Afro Brazil Ghana Festival in Accra in December 2025, using the platform to celebrate the cultural connections between Ghana and Brazil through fashion.
