‘The Boy Called A Girl’ shows today
“The Boy Called A Girl”, a stage play by Kobina Ansah, shows today at the National Theatre in Accra today with two showings at 4 p.m and 8 p.m.
The play revolves around Pastor Ronny Armah whose desperation to have a daughter led him into naming his only son “Ewura”.
Through his Ronny’s Dance Factory, he is able to help people overcome addictions and other forms of immorality.

However, after many years of reforming others, two ugly secrets under his own roof are about to stare at him - the one he has been hiding from everyone and another secret about Ewura he has never imagined!
Typical of Kobina Ansah, he uses music, dance and humour to tackle serious societal issues.
His earlier plays; This Family Is Not For Sale Season 1 and 2, My Wife-in-law, I Want To Sue God! and Tribeless had specific social issues they focused on, including streetism, gender inequality, marriage among others.
He said one of the themes the new play would discuss was sexual abuse and the effects of taking for granted, a child who had been sexually abused.
“We open the can of consequences that befall our family if we consistently brush away our children if they keep coming back with hints of abuse.
“Each day, we must be ready to pay attention to what they have to tell us. We ought to never take lightly what our children divulge to us. Many sexual offenders today have been proven to have experienced some sexual abuse of a sort in past times, especially when they were vulnerable,”he noted.
