We, the 2022 batch of newly recruited teachers from Colleges of Education, formally petition the management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) regarding the issuance of staff IDs and the processing of salaries.
We are currently working without pay, a situation that has placed a great deal of financial strain on many of us.
It is disheartening to note that while we, the 2022 batch, continue to serve without these critical documents and payments, some of our colleagues who joined the service around the same time have been receiving their salaries and have their IDs.
This discrepancy only deepens our frustrations, as it reflects a troubling imbalance in the processing of our documents.
The situation is due to a certain degree of negligence and lack of coordination on the part of some officials responsible for handling such matters.
This ongoing issue has led to significant distress among the affected teachers, and the mental health of many is being placed at risk.
The emotional and financial toll this situation is taking on us cannot be overstated.
In light of the above, we respectfully urge the management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) to prioritise the swift issuance of our staff IDs.
We kindly request that this matter be resolved within June/July, so that we can finally receive the official recognition we deserve, access vital services, and, most importantly, restore some stability to our personal and professional lives.
We trust that the management of GES will treat this matter with the urgency and seriousness it requires, ensuring that we are not left to endure further hardship.
Thank you for your attention to this important issue.
We look forward to your prompt action in addressing our grievances.
