Happy birthday, daddy Kufuor - Occasional Kwatriot Kwesi Yankah writes
Happy birthday, daddy Kufuor
This gentleman is special to Ghana and Africa.
Long after he left office we derive pride being associated with him.

The most visible ripples of his impact were evident in my travels to the subregion.
At various airports in Nigeria, particularly Lagos, customs and immigration officials would fondly ask, ‘how is Kufuor, how is Kufuor?’
He had long left office, though. They would then plead, ‘Please look after the old man for us ooo. He is all we have.’
These words were from Nigerians.
Daddy Kufuor, your warmth and personal interest in people have been exemplary. You visited me twice in Legon.
On my 60th birthday, you sent a delegation to represent you, but followed up personally a few days after (yourself yourself).
We even did not know how to host you. But you did one thing that touched my entire family.

You immediately took to our grandchildren, and carried them on your laps.
That picture will live with them and inspire them for the rest of their lives. It simply means they can be president one day.
We are lucky to see you hale and hearty at 84, when life has really started for you.
Happy birthday!!!
