
Egypt, Ghana discuss expanding military cooperation
Egypt’s Minister of Defense and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Meguid Saqr held talks in Cairo on Saturday with Ghana’s Finance Minister and Acting Defence Minister, Cassiel Ato Forson, on strengthening bilateral military cooperation.
Saqr highlighted the longstanding ties between the two countries’ armed forces and voiced hopes for expanding collaboration across a range of military fields.
Forson, accompanied by a senior delegation, reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to closer military relations with Egypt, describing Cairo as a pillar of regional stability and praising its role in supporting African nations during crises.
The talks were attended by Egypt’s Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Ghana’s Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General William Ayamdo, and senior officers from both militaries.
