The Chairman of the National Education Board for the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ghana, Dr Delali Kwame Foli Hodasi, stated at the ceremony that the dream of the board was to offer quality basic education such that children who passed through the school would develop their God-given potential and be equipped adequately to serve God and mankind.

He said the new facility would have upgraded classrooms equipped with ultra-modern tools to enhance teaching and learning and also an office complex, an ultra-modern e-library, computer and science laboratories and a canteen.

“This would ensure that pupils receive the best education in a serene environment to enable them to build their confidence and realise their potential, guided by sound principles,” he added.

The Head of the Finance Committee of the Project, Mr Isaac Owusu-Hemeng, in an interview said the first phase of the facility was estimated to cost GH¢2.4 million, which would cover a period of five years.

The Municipal Director of Education for the La Nkwantanang Municipality, Mr Peter Nambu Ngala, also called on stakeholders in education to make quality education accessible to all children of school age.

He applauded the school for involving the government in providing quality basic education for its students and described the construction of an ultra-modern facility as a laudable idea.

He assured them of the Ghana Education Service’s (GES’s) support for the project.

“This modern project is a laudable idea and the GES will support the St Peter’s Lutheran School to achieve its plans. Churches are investing tremendously in the spiritual and moral upbringing of students, teaching them to lead morally upright lives, and we applaud the church for that,” he added.
