Toyota rewards winners of Dream Car contest
Nine winners of the “Toyota Dream Car Art Contest” held in Accra would participate in the international competition to be held in Japan later this year.

Out of about 300 participants, the nine children made up of the top three winners from each category: Children under eight years, those between eight and 11 and children between 12 and 15 years received cash prizes, stationery and some learning kits.
In the category of children under eight years, Ms Adrijaa Pal, Ms Kamil Ewuntomaa Mogtari and Master Mathew Barfour Twumasi were the winners while Master Padh Mavathi Susuresh, Ms Danielle Bruce Tagoe and Ms Abigail Selby won in the eight to 11 years category.
Master Carl Delali Simpini, Ms Vanessa Adowa Frema Addo and Master Emmanuel Kofi Ofei were the proud winners in the category of children between 12 and 15 years.
The winners were selected based on the message of the artist, the unique characteristics, the artistic skills of the child and how the art was exhibited.
The “Toyota Dream Car Art contest” is an initiative of Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) which was started in 2004. It is held annually with the intention of making children exhibit their artistic skills by designing their dream cars.
Some of the names for the dream cars the children drew were, Orphan Booster, Soil Toyota Car, Recycling Car, Ultimate Plant Protector, Toyota Painting Car, The Pollinator, Toyota Reduce, Re-use and Recycled Car and the Toyota Ben-toa M29.5 Car.
The Public Relations Manager of Toyota Ghana, Madam Ama Orleans Lindsay, said each year, the company gave children all over the world the opportunity to portray their artistic skills and to express the car they wanted to own.
She said the company hoped to enhance the creative skills of the children with the contest and project art as a talent that needed to be focused on.
Nominations are usually open between September and October each year for children interested in participating in the contest.
