ASA Savings supports two basic schools in Ashanti
ASA Savings and Loans (ASLL) has supported the Bepoase R/C Basic School and the Anglican Cluster of schools in the Sekyere South District and the Atwima-Nwabiagya Municipality, respectively, both in the Ashanti Region.
The company donated building materials to Bepoase R/C Basic School to help to complete an ongoing 10-unit classroom block.
The materials were 200 bags of cement, two trips of sand, iron rods and a bundle of binding wires.
The company also donated 50 mono desks, two teachers’ office desks and two office chairs to the Tanoso Anglican Cluster of schools.
A team from ASA, led by the Manager of the Agona-Kona branch, McJohn Kwarteng, who presented the items, said the initiative formed part of the financial institution’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) to the people it served.
Bepoase school
At the Bepoase R/C Basic School, the pupils, together with their teachers, upon getting the information that ASA Savings was coming to their aid, hurriedly converged on the forecourt of the school to receive their guest.
Mr Kwarteng, at both schools, entreated the authorities to put the items to good use, and assured them that the doors of the company were open anytime they needed assistance.
According to him, it was through a media reportage that they got to know that those schools needed some assistance.
For his part, the Corporate Social Responsibility Manager of ASA, Richard Nartey, said the company was fully committed to bridging the infrastructure gap of public basic schools, both in urban and rural areas.
“Our main goal, as the company’s social responsibility, is to assist government and communities in the country in providing quality education to all,” he added.
Commendations
At both schools, the leadership expressed appreciation to ASA for its timely intervention.
They appealed to other benevolent individuals and organisations to emulate such kind gesture by ASA Savings & Loans.
