Present to witness the ceremony on Saturday, August 24, were year group presidents and executive, family members and priests from the Methodist Church.

The President of the ECOWAS Court of Justice, Justice Edward Asante, who is a member of the 1983 MOBA year group, who presided over the induction, admonished the executive to share the MOBA organisational model with other relatively less experienced alumni groups.

Legacies

He expressed the hope that after four years the newly inducted leadership would have tangible legacies to show all boys of Mfantsipim School and that their era would also see Mfantsipim School soar in academic endeavours.

“As executive members, you have been called to take up the responsibility of overseeing the work of MOBA. We believe that you have given thought to the responsibilities which have been imposed on you by this appointment, and that you will weigh them, apply yourselves to them and ask for help from God, who alone can enable you to fulfil your duties well,” Justice Asante told the inductees.

Accepting the new challenge on behalf of the National Executive Committee, Capt (retd) Forjoe promised an excellent tenure, stressing that, in the coming months the Mfantsipim Endowment Fund would be launched, while innovative events would be undertaken to energise the Mfantsipim Old Boys fraternity in all the regions of Ghana, as well as strengthen international branches.

“Mfantsipim School will continue to be our priority in growing young people for future leadership,” he said.

He also promised that the executive would reach out to other old students’ associations to contribute to quality debates in Ghana’s educational sector.

The induction was also witnessed by old students of Adisadel College and Wesley Girls High School, both in Cape Coast.
