Philanthropist presents pupils with uniforms

A Philanthropist at Fodome Axor in the Hohoe Municipality in the Volta Region, Mr Stephen Adrah, has supplied school uniforms to deprived pupils in the community basic school.

This was after he had observed that some of the pupils were in tattered uniforms, which could affect them psychologically.

Mr Adrah said he was emotionally touched by the condition of the pupils during a visit to his alma mater, the Fodome Axor Basic Education Primary School.

He said he was so passionate about it that he could not wait any further but to extend assistance to them to motivate them to study hard.

Mr Adrah, who is the Managing Director of Stevens Hotel in Ho, said there was the need for well-to-do individuals in communities to extend support to schools in their villages to enable them to upgrade themselves to compete effectively with their counterparts in the urban areas.

The Headmaster of the school, Mr Prosper Fornyikpor, said the philanthropist’s action was an indirect call to all past students of the school to join forces to uplift the image of the school.

He urged the pupils to see Mr Adrah’s kindness as motivation for them to learn hard to get good results so as to attract more assistance from concerned citizens.

The chairman of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), Mr Thompson Adoboe, said Mr Adrah’s gesture was worthy of emulation.
