GH¢3.4m Project for two LEKMA schools
A sod-cutting ceremony was performed on Wednesday, in the Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal Assembly (LEKMA) of the Greater Accra Region, for the commencement of work on the construction of structures for two schools in the municipality at a cost of GH¢3,459,000

The structures are, a two-storey 12-unit classroom block each for the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Basic School, and the St Augustine’s Anglican School (SAAS), both in Nungua.
Each building will also have facilities such as science and computer laboratories, libraries, washrooms, and staff common rooms.
The projects, expected to be completed in 12 months, are being funded from different sources.
The SDA structure is being financed by the World Bank at a cost of GH¢1,745,000, while that of the Anglican school is being financed from the assembly’s common fund at a cost of GH¢1,714,000.
Cutting the sod
Cutting the sod in Nungua, the Municipal Chief Executive for LEKMA, Mr Seth Badu Tawiah, said the projects were being executed in line with the government’s effort to address educational needs of Ghanaians.
For his part, the Municipal Director of Education, Mr Yaw Fosu-Danquah, commended the municipal assembly for the initiative.
He said while the SDA building would be used as a senior high school to add up to existing ones in the municipality, the new structure for the Anglican school would serve the basic school, since its building was almost collapsing.

Mr Fosu-Danquah appealed to the MCE to do his best to end the shift system in the municipality.
Present at the ceremony was an educationist and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Krowor Constituency, Dr E. B. Borketey (popularly known as Amoosha), who pledged to contribute his quota to improving the educational needs of the municipality.
