In a statement issued on October 4, the university addressed a post on X, which alleged that the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) was revoking programmes at unaccredited institutions, including UniMAC.

"We wish to state that this information is malicious, false and without basis. It is our information that the account with the name "..." is notorious for its modus vivendi for misinforming the public and as such, must be ignored at all times", the statement stated.

UniMAC affirmed that it is in full compliance with all regulatory requirements and that all its programmes and learning centres are fully accredited by GTEC.

The university called on the public to disregard the misleading post, emphasising its status as a government institution committed to delivering high-quality education in media, arts, and communication studies.

"UniMAC is a government university that continues to provide high-quality education and remains committed to academic excellence in media, arts, and communication studies", it added.
