2016: Peace & Stability major concern for Graphic Online readers

2016 is finally here and on the cards for Ghanaians is a general election to elect a president and parliamentarians - another test of the country’s credential as a democratic success.

But varied, as always, had been the concerns of many in the just ended 2015 – Energy shortages, jobs, interest rates, new voters’ register, inflation as well as peace & stability.

 

We put these issues to our readers in a quick poll and asked them to vote for their major concern going into 2016 and the results - an overwhelming 53.1% (549) of the 1033 voters picked Peace & Stability.

Energy – a major challenge for Ghanaians for several years, comes second on the priority list, with 167 votes or 16.2%. Then comes Jobs, gathering 130 votes or 12.6%, followed by New Voters Register with 107 votes or 10.4%.

Inflation and Interest rates appear the least concerns of our readers – garnering 20 votes (1.9%) and 17 votes (1.6) respectively.
