22 Suspects arrested for possessing wee, tramadol

Twenty-two suspects have been arrested for possessing substances suspected to be Indian hemp and Tramadol capsules.

They included two women and two men who were arrested for allegedly selling substances suspected to be Indian Hemp at a drinking spot at the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange.

They have been identified as Christiana Kombaba, 34, believed to be the kingpin, Prince Osei Anokye, 20, alias Network, Kelvin Antwi, 22, and Alima Adams, 28.

Eighteen of the suspects believed to be dealers in narcotics were also arrested during a swoop in Accra on Tuesday, April 24, 2018.

The police retrieved some unspecified quantities of Indian hemp and tramadol capsules from the suspects in the course of the operation.

Briefing the Daily Graphic, the Nima Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent of Police, Mr Abraham Acquaye,  said the operation was conducted in some parts of the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange, Nima and Maamobi, believed to have become dens of criminals.

The exercise, he said, was organised occasionally to rid the areas within the jurisdiction of the Nima Divisional Police of criminal activities.
