3 children found dead in parked car
Three children aged between 3 and 6 were on Monday found dead in a car at Elmina, throwing the community into a state of shock and bewilderment.
The bodies of the three, Nana Yaw, 3, Fii, 5 and Maame Akua, 6 were found by the owner of the car when she went to pick the car for an errand.
Police Public Relations Officer Assistant Superintendent of Police Irene Oppong told the media that on Sunday April 15, 2018, one Kwame Bronya, a resident of Taterim, a suburb of Elmina reported that Maame Akua, Fii and Nana Yaw, all his niece and nephews left home unaccompanied by their parents in the morning for church at Family Maker Church held at one of the classrooms of the D/C JSS, near the District Magistrate Court, Elmina but failed to return home.

She said at about 9am Monday, April 16 one Shiny Amissah Dadziebo, the Proprietress of Holy Wood Preparatory School located adjacent to the D/C JSS where the missing children attended church, found the three children dead on the back seat in her Kia Optima Saloon Car with registration number CR 234-13 which was locked and parked inside her walled school compound.
The proprietress had told the police she had found the lifeless bodies of the children when she opened the vehicle to send one of her children who was sick to the hospital.
From the deceased’s home to the church is about 400 metres.
The police said no marks of assault were found on the children but said investigations had begun earnestly into the case.
Meanwhile the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
