Abronye granted GH¢100,000 bail with two sureties

The High Court in Accra has granted bail in the sum of GH¢100,000 to the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, pending trial.

The court, presided over by Justice Bankole Thompson, admitted the accused to bail with two sureties to be justified.

As part of the bail conditions, the accused is to report to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters once every fortnight.

The court further directed him to surrender his travelling documents to the registry of the court and restrain himself from travelling outside the jurisdiction without the permission of the court.

Counsel for the applicant, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, who was led by Godfred Yeboah Dame, moved the motion for bail and prayed the court to admit the applicant to bail pending trial.

The Deputy Attorney-General, Justice Srem-Sai, told the court that the prosecution was not opposed to the application.

Following submissions by both parties, the court granted the accused bail with the stated conditions.
