Arabic teacher declared wanted for alleged defiling of two minors
An Arabic language teacher, Sule Anas, has been declared wanted by the police in relation to a reported defilement and unnatural carnal knowledge of two minors at Fijai Zongo near Sekondi in the Western Region.
The Gender Court in Sekondi issued the arrest warrant on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, according to Superintendent Olivia Adiku, in charge of Police Public Affairs in the Western Region.
Anas, according to the police, was employed by leaders of the Fijai Zongo Central community to teach their children the Arabic language on weekends.
According to the police, the suspect reportedly lured the two minors into a storeroom inside the mosque on the pretext of performing spiritual cleansing for them, before allegedly sodomising and defiling the children.
Anas, who is described as fair in complexion and standing at approximately 5.7 feet tall, is believed to have fled the country.
According Superintendent Adiku, police intelligence suggests he may be hiding in either La Côte d'Ivoire or Togo.
The police is therefore calling on anyone with credible information on his whereabouts to contact the Western Regional Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit or the nearest police station.
The public may also call 191 or 112 to assist in his arrest.
