Pay attention to hotspots in Central Region – Regional Minister
The Central Regional Minister, Mr. Kwamena Duncan, has asked the Ghana Police Service to pay very close attention to the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam constituency, as the area was a possible hotspot in the 2020 election.
“One area that is also coming up is the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam enclave…… In the registration period, we had macho men being brought in and some amount of breach of the law was reported and I cannot raise my finger firmly on the fact that we are going to have it easy in the election period.
So I continue to see that area as a potential crime spot which will have a certain dimension on the election. So I want to draw your attention that we need to open our eyes well and then place our foot firmly,” he said.

Mr. Dankan made the call when the IGP paid a courtesy call on him as part of his visit to the Regional police command.
The IGP on his part, gave assurances that they will put the necessary measures in place to ensure a free and fair election.
“I can assure you that we will do whatever is required to ensure that there is peace before, during and after the elections,’ he said.
He, however, appealed to the presidential and parliamentary candidates who are contesting for the 2020 election to caution their supporters to desists from violent acts and be law abiding to avoid confrontations from the police.
