Bishop Daniel Obinimin the middle

Audio: Obinim speaks about his 'powers' on UTV

The controversial Bishop Daniel Obinim has said Jesus Christ “would not be stupid” to allow an unbeliever to be able to perform miracles such as the ones he has been undertaking.

In an interview on UTV’s Adekye Nsroma Friday morning which was monitored by Graphic Online, Bishop Obinim denied ever visiting a shrine to acquire supernatural powers to perform miracles.

He denied knowing or seeking spiritual powers from Okomfo Yaw Appiah as has been claimed by the fetish priest.

Rather, he said he has met with Yaw Appiah spiritually but was yet to see him personally and does not even know how he looks like.

He therefore said it was confusing for the fetish priest to be moving from one radio station to the other claiming Bishop Obinim got his spiritual powers from

the founder of the International God’s Way Church, said Jesus Christ allowed Okomfo Appiah to go scot free for tarnishing his image.

According to him, Jesus Christ should have struck Okomfo Appiah down for telling lies against him [Bishop Daniel Obinim].

“African black magic can’t do what I am doing and if African black magic is doing what I am doing then, Jesus Christ is stupid”, he said.

Bishop Obinim who explained his actions for saying such words against his father Jesus Christ, said he [Bishop Daniel Obinim] was provoking God to take action and prove to people that he was a true man of God.

Bishop Obinm claimed he pays over GhȻ120,000 as salary to his workers every month and therefore boasted that Okomfo Yaw Appiah was nowhere near him in terms of followers and the number of people he catered for.

He said weeks of claims by Okomfo Appiah that Obinim got his powers from him started affecting the turn out of his congregation in Kumasi, Tema and Accra but since the fetish priest failed to show up for the contest last week, the confidence of his [Obinim] followers have been deepened and the numbers at his church have started increasing again.

He therefore promised to pay GhȻ20,000 to any radio presenter who would be able to arrange another spiritual contest between them.
