Be peace ambassadors - Women urged

The National Coordinator of the Women’s Ministry of the Global Evangelical Church, Reverend Mrs Patricia Akpene Tegbe-Agbo, has tasked women in general and Christian women in particular to be peace ambassadors before, during and after the 2024 general election.

She said God has placed women in a very privileged position. “Don’t forget, as women, we are the mothers, wives, aunties and daughters of those in politics. We live in the same houses or communities with these politicians. We know them very well. I commission each and every one of us to begin the process from our homes. I will go and educate those within my circles to rate the nation’s peace and unity above every personal or parochial interests and appeal to each of you to go and do the same”.

Rev. Mrs Tegbe-Agbo was addressing the 2024 Rally of the Kumasi Presbytery Women’s Ministry of the Global Evangelical Church in Kumasi.

Theme

The three-day event was on the theme: “Empowering Women for Holiness and Change”.

She said it was incumbent on women to bring change into their own lives through empowering themselves spiritually, financially, academically and socially among others in order to make a positive impact on their families and society at large.

The wife of the former Moderator of the Church, Dr Mrs Lebene Tettey, who was the main speaker, called on women to strive to be the Deborah’s of our time.

Speaking on the theme which was based on Judges Chapter 4, Dr Mrs Tettey admonished the women to inculcate positive virtues of biblical women such as hard work, courage, supportive and daring even if others fail to take such steps.

The Kumasi Presbytery Chairman, Rev. Dr Smith Tettey, in his address, praised the ministry for its diligence which was contributing in no small measure to the growth of the Global Evangelical Church in the Presbytery.
