
See the areas that will be affected by ECG’s planned maintenance on July 30, 2025
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced scheduled maintenance works across several regions of the country on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, as part of ongoing efforts to improve electricity supply and service reliability.
The exercise, which spans five regions; Ashanti, Central, Greater Accra, Tema, and Volta, is expected to cause temporary power outages in numerous communities between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., depending on the location.
Ashanti Region
In a notice issued on Tuesday, July 29, ECG stated it will undertake emergency maintenance in the Ashanti Region on July 30, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The areas expected to be affected include: Anwiankwanta, Dominase, Behenase, Ntonanko, Poano, Daa, Apaaso, Sensor, Senfi, Adjamaso, Ofoase, Nampanse, Amansie, Aseibu, Anwiam, Amponnya, Sisikro, Bodoma, Homase, Bekrose, Penipa, Asikuma, Amoafo, Koniyaw, Asokore, Kokotro, Subriso, Asakyiri, Ahwiren, Estate, Damoanin, Bekwai Township, Esumeja, Asankare, Kwamang and surrounding areas.
Central Region
Emergency works will also take place in the Central Region between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
The following areas will be impacted: Fetteh Kakraba, Akrampa, Nkwantanan and surrounding communities.
Tema Region
In the Tema Region, planned maintenance will be carried out from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on July 30.
Affected areas include: Salvation Army, Abattoir, Youth With Mission, Nutri Food, Toyota Ghana Ltd Underbridge, Klagon and its environs.
Volta Region
Residents in Hodzo and its surrounding areas will experience power outages between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. due to planned works.
Greater Accra Region
The most widespread outages are expected in the Greater Accra Region. The ECG will undertake planned maintenance between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in the following areas:
New Bortianor, Red Top, Abease, Achiama, Obeyeyie, Ayikai Doblo, Tantra Hills, St. John Cluster of Schools, Mile 7 Market, Pig Farm, Kotobabi, Abavana, Accra Newtown, Adjiriganor, Coconut Junction, Tseaddo, Anas Warehouse, Doryumu, Ayikuma, Kordiabe and their surrounding communities.
The ECG has apologised for the inconvenience the outages may cause and has assured customers that the maintenance is aimed at enhancing the quality and reliability of electricity supply across the affected areas.
“ECG regrets the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise,” the utility provider noted in all the regional announcements.
Residents and businesses in the listed locations are advised to take the necessary precautions to mitigate the impact of the outages during the maintenance window.
