Bryan Acheampong’s sponsorship scheme supports Achimota Primary students
More than 90 students have so far benefitted from the educational sponsorship programme run by Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Dr Bryan Acheampong, with 63 current beneficiaries paying a farewell visit to him last week ahead of the new academic year.
The MP, who is also a flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), welcomed the students from Achimota School and urged them to embrace discipline, hard work and focus in their studies. He reminded them that education was not only a path to personal progress but also a duty to their families and the nation.
Sharing his personal experience, Dr Acheampong recounted how his educational journey began at Achimota Primary before moving on to the Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC), which he credited as the foundation that shaped his future.
“Opportunity is the most powerful gift I can give,” he said. “But it is your determination that makes the difference.”
Currently, 25 of the sponsored students have completed the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and are awaiting their results, while 63 others are continuing at different levels, including 16 new entrants this semester.
The scheme pays for tuition, boarding, food and provisions, ensuring support from primary through to senior high school.
