Carpenter jailed 7 years for defiling teen in Walewale
The Nalerigu Circuit Court has sentenced a 30-year-old carpenter to seven years in prison with hard labour for defiling a 15-year-old girl in Walewale in the North East Region.
The convict, Alhassan Abdulai, alias "Borga Lasco" is said to have lured the victim with GH₵10 and defiled her at a local eatery joint.
The court presided over by Francis Ayamwuni Asobayire on Thursday, January 9, 2025, sentenced Abdulai after finding him guilty of the offense.
The facts of the case as presented in court are that the convict is from Langbinsi in the East Mamprusi Municipality but resides in Walewale plying his trade.
In October 2024, Abdulai who is a regular customer of a local eatery joint went to buy food and met only the victim at the joint.
He lured her with GH₵10, dragged her into a corner and defiled her. Unable to withstand the pain, the victim reported the incident to her parents who lodged a complaint at the police station.
He was subsequently arrested by the West Mamprusi Municipal Police Command and put before court.
