The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced a three-day Documentation and Body Selection Exercise for qualified applicants under its 2026/2027 Enlistment Exercise.
The exercise marks the next stage of the enlistment process following the completion of the online application phase, which closed last Wednesday.
The documentation and body selection exercise will start today and will run till Wednesday at designated centres in the Northern and Southern sectors.
This follows the closure of online applications for the recruitment exercise last Wednesday.
The GAF said qualified applicants would receive text messages containing information on the exercise, including their designated centres and reporting instructions.
Applicants who receive the notification are expected to report to their designated centres on the scheduled dates and follow the instructions provided by the Armed Forces.
Centres
In the Northern Sector, the exercise will be held at the 4 Infantry Battalion, Uaddara Barracks, Kumasi.
Applicants in the Southern Sector are to report to the Nicholson Stadium at the Air Force Base in Accra.
The GAF has urged qualified applicants to take note of the dates, designated centres and instructions communicated to them as they proceed with the recruitment process.
Significant changes
Last year, the GAF had to review its safety protocols for the documentation and body selection exercise after the exercise led to stampede at some of its designated centres, resulting in multiple casualties.
The exercise, the first in a while, was subsequently suspended temporarily, with officials stating that the overwhelming number of applicants disrupted Internet connectivity at the venue, further contributing to delays and confusion that led to the temporary suspension of the exercise.
When the exercise resumed a week later, significant changes were implemented to ensure a safer and more seamless process, including the creation of multiple screening sub-centres across five locations.
