The donation was preceded by a three-hour clean-up exercise at the health facility, during which members of the church cleared bushes, cleaned louvre blades and nets in the wards and as scrubbed gutters around.+

Presentation

Presenting the items on behalf of the church, Elder William Yirenkyi said that it was the duty of the church to regularly support public institutions to function effectively and efficiently.

He noted that although the church was mandated to take care of the spiritual needs of its members, it was also obliged to support institutions of state to deal with the health needs of individuals.

He said the government alone could not adequately resource institutions of state to function properly, stressing that the church and other corporate bodies must assist institutions to perform their functions well.

Gratitude

The Nurse Manager of the hospital, Mrs Elizabeth Ampoful Essel, who received the items on behalf of the hospital, thanked the church for supporting the patients.

She said that the wheel chairs would enhance health care at the hospital and promised to take good care of them.

Also present at the ceremony were Elders Robert Quansah and Nicholas Essel, as well as some staff members of the hospital.
