Joseph Aidoo resigns from role as COCOBOD CEO

The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Joseph Boahen Aidoo has formally resigned from his position, effective January 7, 2025.

His departure follows a directive issued on January 13, 2025, which mandates the termination of all board memberships at State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs).

In a letter addressed to President John Dramani Mahama on January 16, Aidoo explained that his decision was made to facilitate a smooth transition and allow stakeholders and business partners to engage with the incoming leadership.

Although his term was set to end in July 2025, he emphasized the importance of ensuring continuity and effective collaboration during the leadership change.

Mr. Aidoo also expressed his gratitude to former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the opportunity to serve as COCOBOD’s CEO over the past eight years and reaffirmed his ongoing dedication to the cocoa industry.

“I hereby tender my resignation as Chief Executive of the Ghana Cocoa Board, effective January 7, 2025,” Aidoo concluded in his letter.
