The Accra Circuit Court today sentenced a 36-year-old corn mill operator to 13 years imprisonment for defiling a 10-year-old child.
Godwin Akpa pleaded guilty to the charge of defiling a child under the age of sixteen and was convicted on his own plea.
Akpa told the court, presided over by Mrs Abena Adjin-Doku, that he did not know what came over him before engaging in the act.
According to the facts of the case, Akpa, the victim and her grandmother resides at Kisseman, a suburb of Accra.
