Countdown to 2016 Springboard Road Show launched

The Executive Director of the Salt and Light Ministries, Dr Joyce Aryee, has charged Ghanaians to take up the challenge of initiating change at the personal level and not to look up to the government to always do so.

She was of the view that the change that the country needed would not be initiated by the mass of the people but a critical mass that would serve as a “dynamite” to engender change.

In calling for that change, Dr Aryee said, “we need a righteousness revolution and that revolution means that we have a right heart; a right heart that moves into right thinking, a right thinking that moves into the right action.”

Dr Aryee made the call when she addressed the launch of a 100-day countdown to the 10th edition of the Springboard Road Show in 2016 in Accra yesterday. The 2016 show will be on the theme “A Decade of Transforming Lives.” It is expected to start in Sunyani on January 27, 2016 with a grand finale on March 9, 2016 in Takoradi.

The occasion was also used to present awards to the Graphic Communications Group Limited (G.C.G.L) and other media and corporate organisations that had supported the road show over the years.

Springboard Road Show

The Springboard Road Show is the brainchild of Reverend Albert and Mrs Comfort Ocran who are international motivational speakers, ministers of the gospel, authors and management consultants.

Over 120, 000 up-and-coming business executives, entrepreneurs and graduates across the country have been impacted directly through career guidance, one-on-one mentoring, training workshops and presentations through the Springboard Road Show Foundation.

Dr Aryee called on corporate bodies to invest in the training of the youth, adding that the overwhelming success of the Springboard Road Show and its related interventions had confirmed that leadership could be exhibited by ordinary people operating outside the partisan political space.

She, however, cautioned against a take-over of the project by the government irrespective of the level of support it provided.

Target

Speaking at the launch, the Executive Director of the foundation, Rev. Albert Ocran, said the organisers had decided to scale up its impact to reach a million emerging leaders by 2020.

He said the focus of the foundation for the next five years would be to build the capacities of the various Springboard clubs nationwide to enable them to effectively organise road shows at the district levels.

“The ultimate goal will be to empower a new crop of emerging leaders and youth in the areas of entrepreneurship, savings and investment culture and emerging technology as economic enablers,” he said.
