Daily Graphic wins Health Legendary Honours Africa award
The flagship of the Graphic Communication Group Limited, the Daily Graphic newspaper has been named the winner of this year’s Africa Health Advocate media institution.
The award acknowledges the paper’s role in promoting health issues in Ghana and in Africa at large.
The newspaper received the award at the second edition of the Health Legendary Honours Africa awards ceremony held in Accra on Saturday.

Mr Albert Kwabena Dwumfuor, MD of Atinka Media Village took an award on behalf of Mr Samuel Amo Tobbin.
In his welcome address, the Public Relations Officer of Media Men Ghana Limited organisers of the event, Mr Prince Akpah lauded the various roles being played by individuals and institutions in improving the wellbeing of Ghanaians and Africans.
According to him, these individuals and institution need to be celebrated in order to encourage others.
He said it was against this background that the Health Legendary Honours ( HELEH Africa) Africa awards was initiated to honour diligence and excellence in the health sector cross the continent.
In addition, he said through the help of the HELEH Africa foundation, his outfit will be constructing state -of- the- art First Aid Centres across the country.

That, he noted will make health delivery accessible to the indigenous people.
The winner of the HELEH Africa – Spirited Africa Legendary Clinician for the year 2018, Dr. Ken Aboah called for selflessness in health delivery.
He urged all doctors to be ready to serve humanity irrespective of where they are posted to, adding that a doctor’s main goal is to see to the wellbeing of the patients.

Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo received HELEH Africa - Spirited African Leadership Health Advocate of the year, while Dr Michael Agyekum Addo won the HELEH Africa – Spirited Africa Innovative & Contemporary Health Entrepreneur of the year with Mr Samuel Amo Tobbin receiving the HELEH Africa – Spirited Africa Health Expediters of the year.

Others include, Ms. Angela Trenton-Mbonde who recieved the HELEH Africa - Spirited Africa Health Advocate Diplomat of the year, Dr Mae C. Jemison was named HELEH Africa – Spirited International Clinician of the year, Dr. Osei Kwame Despite won the HELEH Africa - Philanthropic Africa health support entrepreneur of the year, Mr Ernest Bediako Sampong received HELEH Africa - Spirited Pioneer Africa Pharmacist of the year and Rwanda winning the HELEH Africa – Spirited African Health Advocate State among others.

The Charismatic Evangelistic Ministry received HELEH Africa - Africa Health Support Religious Institution of the year, Chamber of Pharmacy had HELEH Africa – Spirited Africa Health Expediters of the year, Cuba Embassy had HELEH Africa - Spirited Africa Health Support Embassy of the year and Flying Doctors Nigeria were honour with HELEH Africa – Africa Resourced First Aid & Ambulance Service Provider of the year among others.
