Churches organised picnics and competitive games where members danced and sang to Ghanaian music.

Wearing colourful dresses, many old and young people cheered their teams in the respective churches to victory.

Children were entertained with games such as lime and spoon, sack race, volleyball and bouncy castles.

Thousands of Ghanaians thronged the Black Star Square Beach to celebrate the holiday.

Many were seen swimming and dancing. The sale of alcohol and aphrodisiacal drinks boomed at the beach.

The Oxford Street at Osu, known for hosting popular outdoor events during holidays, however had no sign of an outdoor event during the day.

Brisk business activities were also going on at places  where these events were held with  traders selling clothes and food.
