Information gathered by the Daily Graphic indicated that the fire started about 1 a.m. and was brought under control a few hours later, thanks to the swift response from personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service.
Investigations
When the Daily Graphic visited the court premises yesterday morning, a team of fire officers and policemen were at the scene to assess the situation.
There was thick black smoke on the walls and louvre blades of the chamber, which is sandwiched between two court rooms on the first floor of the building.
The Court Registrar, Mr John Tefe, said an inventory would be taken to ascertain the kind of files lost to the fire, while they awaited the outcome of investigations.
