The ministry aims to  promote the well-being and development of women in Ghana and parts of Africa and to promote entrepreneurial skills training for the vulnerable in the society.

So far, about 10,000 women across the country have benefited from the entrepreneurial skills training.

Giving the background of GHACOE, the founder, Madam Florence Yeboah, said the organisation was introduced in Ghana by a Zambian woman who later became a Member of Parliament.

She called on Ghanaians to rise up against corruption stressing, “this drains the coffers of the country”.

Madam Yeboah also advised children to live upright lives in order to be worthy of taking up responsibilities in the society.

She also advised girls and young women to  be moderate and decent in their dressing to avoid being accused of wearing “provocative dressing”, which she said debased womanhood.

The chairperson for the occasion from Opportunities  Saving & Loans, Mrs Vivian Akofa Mottey, who is also a beneficiary of the entrepreneurial skills development programme, appealed for support for the organisation to enable it to carry out its mandate of supporting the needy in the society.

There was an exhibition of some cottage industries  in the area of batik tie-dye, dressmaking, baking and beadmaking, among others.
