Ghana has recorded 25 new cases of Mpox, bringing the country’s total confirmed infections to 519, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has announced.
The latest figure marks a steady rise in cases since September 1, when the Service reported 27 new infections, raising the national tally to 494.
Prior to that, Ghana recorded 21 cases on August 28 and 22 on August 25.
According to health officials, Mpox spreads mainly through close contact with an infected person.
Common symptoms include fever, headache, swollen lymph nodes, muscle pain, and a characteristic rash.
The GHS urged the public to remain vigilant, maintain proper hygiene, and seek medical care promptly if they develop symptoms.
