The ceremony took place at the Copthorne Tara Hotel in Kensington in London, United Kingdom, on July 7, 2013 and was attended by representatives of 68 companies from 59 countries.

The ESQR, which is based in Lausanne, Switzerland, is dedicated to quality improvement techniques, recognition and research.

It makes positive contribution to quality culture through its conventions and award-giving ceremonies in major European cities.

The ESQR Quality awards are presented to selected companies and organisations representing different sectors from Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa and Australia.

The awards recognise the outstanding commitment, support and efforts to endorse and improve achievements in large, medium and small-size enterprises.

The Director-General of the GMA, Mr Peter Issaka Azuma, expressed delight at the award and said it would encourage the authority and other institutions in Ghana and the wider West African sub-region to implement effective quality systems.
