Courier service providers must adhere to safety protocols — FDA

Report courier service providers in the food industry who fail to adhere to safety protocols to the Food and Drug Authority (FDA).

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Food Division) of the FDA, Roderick Daddey-Adjei, who gave the directive, said this would ensure safety, adherence to regulations and overall improvement in the courier service business in the country.

He was speaking at an awards ceremony in Accra on the theme: “Beyond delivery: Honouring five years of progress and partnership.”

The event was organised by Bolt Food Ghana to honour its partners during the celebration of its 5th anniversary in Accra.

Pictures

Mr Daddey-Adjei encouraged the public to take pictures of any courier service provider found delivering food in unhygienic containers and submit them to the FDA.

“If you see any courier service, and you think that the container in which they are carrying food is dirty, please take a picture and send it to the FDA,” he added.

Mr Daddey-Adjei said food safety remained a priority of the FDA and commended Bolt Food for ensuring food safety and delivery through innovation, dedication and hard work.

He said that the collaboration between the FDA and Bolt Food over the years was a demonstration of how the private sector and regulators could work together to protect public health and also promote business.

Awards

Various awards were presented to restaurants, local food vendors and courier service operators for their loyalty to Bolt Food Ghana over the past five years.

Abdul Rahman Ishack, was the “Star Performer, 2025,” for his exceptional contribution to the company’s courier network services.
