Go beyond achievements - Krapa charges Ministry of Energy agencies
The Minister of State at the Ministry of Energy, Herbert Krapa, has charged agencies under the ministry to go beyond the achievements they have chalked up and take governance and client service issues more seriously than they have done in the past.
He said they should endeavour to find solutions to the challenges they faced so as to provide better care and services to customers.

Mr Krapa was speaking at the opening of a Client Focus Week organised by the Ministry of Energy in Accra yesterday.
Participants
The agencies taking part in the event include the Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL), Petroleum Commission, the Energy Commission, the Volta River Authority (VRA), the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company (BOST) Ltd, the Ghana Gas Company Limited and the National Petroleum Authority (NPA).
Testament
Mr Krapa said the decision of the ministry to take the Client Focus Week celebration seriously was a testament to the culture that existed there.
“We are in a sector that is at the centre of everything. If you think about national development, if you think about the growth and economic impact on the people, I think it is impossible to take out the energy sector,” the minister said.
He said the ministry was crucial when it came to the running of the economy and that there would be a catastrophic effect if it should go to sleep.
"I am excited that we have been celebrating this Client Focus Week. I understand we are the only ministry that is doing so, and so it speaks to how seriously we take our clients,” Mr Krapa stated

The Head of the Civil Service, Dr Evans Aggrey-Darkoh, said the event also offered an opportunity to reflect on the critical role that client service played in ensuring efficient governance, service delivery and overall national development.
Satisfaction
Customer satisfaction, Dr Aggrey-Darkoh stated, was becoming a need rather than an option in the global economy.
“Why are we in this business at all? We are here because of our clients. If the client doesn't exist, we don't exist,” he stated.
He said when addressing the needs of clients, providers of services at the various institutions should not think that they were doing them a favour.
