The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Engineers & Planners Ltd and Dzata Cement, Ibrahim Mahama, has come to the aid of a 13-year-old girl, Rosemond Boadu, who has a kidney problem.
Mr Mahama gave out $25,000 for her to undergo a kidney transplant.

The Special Aide to Mr Mahama, Rafik Mahama, confirmed the positive development to the Daily Graphic and said “I received instructions from my boss (Mr Mahama) to transfer of the money for the procedure to begin”.
He said Ms Boadu and her family, who have been living in the Oti Region, have since been moved to Accra.
The girl sometimes had to miss school to undergo dialysis sessions.
For the youngster, the health situation was affecting her education as she was unable to be in school regularly.
In view of her situation, she feared that she was not going to achieve her dream of becoming a medical doctor.
She, therefore, appealed for help from the public since she did not want to be on dialysis for the rest of her life. It is in respect of that that Mr Mahama intervened and paid the money to enable the procedure.

In June this year, the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Dr Da-Costa Aboagye, told the Daily Graphic that for patients aged 18 and 59 the scheme would absorb the cost of two dialysis sessions per month at GH¢982, that is GH¢491 per session, at all government facilities offering dialysis services, except the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH).
At KBTH where a philanthropist already offers GH¢380 subsidy per session, the NHIS would top up with GH¢245.50, which is 50 per cent of the cost per session for two sessions per month, estimated at GH¢491.
