Man beater in viral video arrested

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Special Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team has arrested a female suspect who was seen in a viral video assaulting a male victim.

The suspect, Esther Nana Afia Sarfowaa, was arrested at Subriso in the Ahafo Ano North Constituency in the Ahafo Ano Region.  

A second suspect, Stephen Ofori, was also arrested at Nkawie in the Ashanti Region for his involvement in the incident.

Both suspects are in custody, while efforts are ongoing to arrest three other suspects who are currently on the run.

The Ghana Police Service, in a report, assured the public of its commitment to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Robbery

Meanwhile, the police have also arrested one Kwabena Bioh for his alleged involvement in a robbery attack on a mobile money vendor at Nkawie in the Ashanti Region.

A police statement said that at about 8:45 p.m. last Thursday, Georgina Antwi reported to the station that at approximately 2000 hours the same day, her sister, Akua Afriyie, a mobile money vendor, had allegedly been attacked, robbed, and shot by Bioh and his friend.

The victim was rushed to the Essuowin Model Health Centre, where Akua Afriyie, 40, was receiving treatment.

“Examination revealed two gunshot wounds on her lower right abdomen. The victim has since been referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for further treatment.

“Strenuous and relentless effort is being made to arrest the remaining suspect,” the statement added.
