President makes appointments to Vice-Presidennt’s office

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed 10 individuals to the Office of the Vice-President, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.

This was contained in a statement issued yesterday by the acting Spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.

The staffers include the Chief of Staff to the Vice-President, Alex Percival Segbefia; the Head of Administration, Alberta Graham; the Presidential Staffer and Special Aide to the Vice-President, Prof. Theresah Ennim; the Secretary to the Vice-President, Daniella Mavis Mathias; and Policy Advisor, Political, Dr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo.

The rest are Policy Advisors, Economics, Prof. Sharif Mahmud Khalid and Dr Hamza Zakaria; Policy Advisor, Finance, Mansa Amoa Awuah; Policy Advisor, Social Sector, Dr Miriam Rahinatu Iddrisu, and a Press Secretary, Maame Ama Pratt.

Mr Segbefia

Mr Segbefia is a lawyer and a former Minister of Health under the previous Mahama administration and the Deputy Chief of Staff during former President Mills' government.

An old student of Achimota School, he qualified as a lawyer in the United Kingdom (UK) where he also practised law in various capacities such as Crown Prosecutor, and then eventually became the Acting District Crown Prosecutor at the Crown Prosecution Service.

Mrs Graham

Mrs Graham is a Deputy Registrar and was appointed on September 3, 2019, as acting Director of Consular and General Services of the University of Cape Coast. 

She has worked as an administrator for the past 25 years and 18 years as a professional administrator and has served on various statutory boards and committees of the university.

She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Administrators and Management Consultants of Ghana and a member of the Ghana Association of University Administrators Ghana.  

Prof. Ennin

Prof. Ennin is an academic and policy expert, who will assist the Vice-President in policy coordination and strategic initiatives related to national development. 

Daniella Mavis Mathias

The Secretary to the Vice-President will handle official correspondence, organise schedules and ensure that the Vice-President’s engagements are well-coordinated and executed effectively. 

Dr Ampofo

Dr Ampofo is the former National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress with vast experience in political strategy and governance. He will offer expert advice on political affairs and serve as a key resource in managing relationships with various political stakeholders. 

Dr Khalid

Dr Khalid is an Oxford graduate with a PhD from Henley Business School —one of the world’s leading business schools. He is a prominent member of the NDC's Finance and Economy Committee.

He holds an MSc in Taxation Law from the University of Oxford UK, Faculty of Law.

An Executive MBA, Senior Leadership Programme from the Sheffield University Management School, UK.

Dr Zakaria

Dr Zakaria was a macroeconomist and public financial management specialist at the Embassy of Switzerland in Ghana.

He is also a lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and a consultant. He is also a research fellow at the University for Development Studies.

Ms Amoa Awuah

Mansa Amoa-Awuah is the founder of Saki Publicity, a full-service advertising agency that she has helmed for the last two decades.

She began her professional career as a Barrister in the United Kingdom in the 1980s, transitioning seamlessly from the 1990s into the world of marketing communications.

As a policy adviser on finance, she is expected to bring new and innovative ideas to improve the country's financial landscape and provide guidance on how to enhance its appeal to investors.

Dr Iddrisu

She has extensive knowledge of gender equality, social inclusion (GESI) and intersectional approaches with 18 years’ experience advancing GESI in organisations, international development programming and projects.

With 16 years of working experience, she has a blend of academic and practical field experience in the Project management.

She also possesses extensive experience in applying Innovative Research Methodologies while dealing with sensitive issues for women, girls, boys and men.

Ms Pratt

Ms Pratt is a media professional and communications specialist who brings a wealth of experience to her new role.

Her track record of advocating development and social equity and her deep understanding of media dynamics make her an ideal candidate to manage and coordinate the Vice-President’s communications agenda effectively.
