Qatar Charity inaugurates projects in Awutu Senya West District

Qatar Charity, an NGO, has inaugurated some projects at the Obrayeko Bawjise community in the Awutu Senya West District in the Central Region.

The development projects, which are under its Health, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) initiative, included a furnished clinic, a borehole, and a housing facility to improve access to clean water, sanitation and health care for the local population.

The event was graced by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Awutu Senya West, who is also the Deputy Minister of Works and Housing, Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui. Also present were the District Health Director, Dr Gerald Felix, representatives of Qatar Charity, community members and traditional leaders.

Commitment

A representative of the Country Director of Qatar Charity, Hasan Ali Owda, said the organisation was dedicated to rural development and social interventions.

He thanked community leaders for their collaboration and trust and said the responsible use of the new facilities would encourage further support from the organisation.

"We believe that if this facility is well utilised and maintained, it will serve as a model for future WASH projects in similar communities," Mr Owda said.

Assurance

Dr Felix assured the beneficiary community that efforts would be made to operationalise the clinic to maximise its benefits.

He pledged the directorate’s commitment to providing the necessary personnel and resources to run the facility effectively.
